I love cats and I want to help raise money for those cats who are hurt or need help to find their forever homes.
I think that the Cat Welfare Society is doing a good job of helping the cats of Singapore but they need your help and donations to help more cats.

Our cats are called Brownie and Sweetpea. I really love my cats because they are very sweet and when I'm feeling sad they always come and kiss me to make me feel better.
Every home should have a cat and every cat should have a home that is safe and full of love.

I hope you can help!

"I find it disturbing when people espouse the opinion that animals do not have feelings. As an animal communicator I know for certain that they do, as they regularly share their feelings with me. Why is it that some people are so insistent that we not anthropomorphize animals? Could it be that ascribing emotions to animals means we would have to acknowledge they are sentient beings?"

Empowering animal welfare groups

WE HAVE seen an increase in animal welfare awareness through the news in the aftermath of the landmark 75-dog Pasir Ris puppy mill rescue in 2010 ("Give your views on animal welfare law"; Sept 6).

Singapore lags behind developed countries in empowering animal welfare groups to do more, such as policing actions for animal abuse.

The 2010 case of Butters the dog, showcased in an online video, left many aghast at the official conclusion that Butters was not being abused and would continue to suffer in silence. If it were a child or an elder, there would have been immediate action taken.

We need to do better. The signs and symptoms of abuse are universal. As a nation, we are guilty of neglect by turning a blind eye to the abuse of any living thing and not doing anything to stop it. It is time to empower animal welfare groups now.
