A community cat called Orange-Boy (OB)
A Chinese lady feeder said that this ginger cat was almost caught by a pest controller many years ago before he was neutered. He hid under the drain covers till the pest controller gave up. The feeder then quickly took him to the vet for sterilisation and now he sports a left tipped ear.
A few months ago, a male Chinese resident told a feeder that he would complain to the town council about this cat sitting on his car! The feeder contacted a caregiver who quickly called the Senior Property Officer (SPO) before the complaint came in. The SPO suspected that the complainant was likely the same man who complain of dust on his car from the lift construction. However this man didn't lodge any complaint.
Some property officers are intimidated by residents who complaint, especially if the complainants are aggressive or some "big shots" RC members. These officers then to take the easy way out by culling the cats in the vicinty of the complainant. Such will be the outcome if there are no caregivers to speak out for the cats.
If you care for the cats, please do speak or email to your town council to volunteer in assisting the SPO's in resolving feedback about cats. You can write to the Cat Welfare Society (CWS) at info@catwelfare.org to put yourself on the register of volunteers and also to connect to other caregivers in your neighbourhood if there are any. The CWS can assist you if you are new at this.
