AFTER reading the article, 'Why didn't driver stop to help my dog?' (The New Paper, 10 Aug), I like to remind all motorists that it is important to stop and help animals during accidents.

I know that some, if not many, will be thinking: What's the big deal? It's only an animal.

If due to valid reasons such as not being trained to handle injured animals, they can always ask for help from the public or call for help.

I am sad and disappointed to read that the driver of the lorry which killed the dog did not stop and help.

Worse, the driver thought the dog was a stray.

To all motorists, please have compassion towards animals, regardless of whether they are stray or pets.
