Lennie, the lucky college kitten
This happened about 2 weeks ago.
I was about to park my car at work when I saw two girls trying to help a little kitten who looked lost. I parked my car quickly and went over to have a look. The kitten was very small, roughly about 1 1/2 months of age (my guess), and he just wanted to follow someone. It so happened I had some dog kibbles in my car, so I tried feeding him some, but the size was too big.
My college had set up an animal welfare society some time last year of which I was asked to be adviser, so I called the president, Celine. Celine was in class at that time, but she came down quickly. I too had to go to class, and the management of the college is not animal-friendly. So I told Celine to get anyone of our members to look after the kitten for the time being. After all, we did not bring the kitten in from outside, he was one of the kittens on college grounds.
The rest is history...
The members took over the kitten, and brought him to one of our panel vets for an examination. One of the member, Kristy, fostered the kitten, and text me over the weekend to ask for advice.
And the best thing is, in no time at all, they even managed to get the kitten adopted!

Here's lucky Lennie.
I'm very proud and happy that the members have undertaken the rescue and rehoming of this kitten all by themselves.
Our hope lies in the young. Their hearts still have that inborn compassion in them, and we must cultivate and keep this alive, for the sake of all the animals in our community.
