Ran out the house" sometime in October 2009.
Vicinity: 22-12-2009, Kenneth sms-ed "Got collar, no name or number. Near Blue Horizon and varsity park. Since he ran out from the garden, most likely West Coast Park as it is right behind across the road."
Please look out for this cat. Hopefully the collar would not dislodge to encircle his neck and shoulder AGAIN.

Should You Collar that Cat?

This cat was abandoned in an industrial car park with a collar that was displaced to encircle his neck and shoulder. Fortunately he was trapped for neutering on 20th November 2008.
He was named Copperfield.

After he was neutered, he was released back into the car park.

Surprisingly, his personality transformed from being shy and distrustful to being trusting.

On 25th January 2009, decision was made to board him for rehoming as it was feared that he would disappear like his "partner" at car park (another abandoned cat that was also recently trapped for neutering).

He was adopted by Kenneth on 21st March 2009.

Copperfield was renamed Tiger and he became a member of the family.

From being abandoned...to being a home cat

Someone abandoned him into this harsh industrial car park environment with a collar that somehow slipped over his neck and under his shoulder. Imagine the discomfort it has caused him. Fortunately he was trapped for neutering and the collar was taken off!

21-01-2009: Over time he lost his fear of human and became trusting and affectionate. As his partner had mysteriously disappeared, it was feared that he could suffer the same fate, hence decision was made for him to be boarded in a shelter, hopefully to find a home.

He was adopted on 21st March 2009

Copperfield is still around (Houdini is definitely MIA)

Houdini remains missing. Copperfield allows me to carry him for the first time.

For the first time, he rolls on the ground in a display of trust and affection.

He has a sad look that touches my heart.

Unusual for Houdini not to appear for "makan" 2 days in a row

7.20am: Copperfield readily appeared under one of the two permanently parked ambulances.
No sight of Houdini.
I hope he has not been attacked by dogs or killed by cars.

Houdini didn't appear this morning

Dogs from the nearby factories come over to this car park when it is deserted in the nights and over the weekends. Cats have been killed by them.

Hope both Copperfield and Houdini are street-smart to dodge these dogs.

I will be driving to this car park tomorrow morning before driving to the East Coast for taichi. Hope I will see both cats then.

Copperfield losing his fear

Copperfield let me touch him for the first time this morning

Perhaps he is beginning to trust human again.
He was dumped to survive in a public car park, with a collar that slipped over his neck and a shoulder. If he has not been trapped for neutering, he would have live a miserable life with a collar that hampered his movement.

Houdini didn't appear this morning. Hope he is safe and will appear tomorrow morning

Two recently neutered community cats sharing lives in a car park

Someone named them Houdini (black and white) and Copperfield (ginger who was abandoned with a collar that dislodged to encircle over his neck and a limb) because of their rapid disappearance into the drains under the kerb.
The two cats finished up a whole big can of food. The paper on which the food was emptied on was later discarded in a dustbin.
