Fei-Mui was suspected to be injured by a man who scolded a feeder

Fei-Mui is a very senior cat, that was neutered about 5-6 years ago.

She was content just lying at one corner of a block of HDB flats.

A few years she was "wrongly" caught by the town council but was quickly released.

The problem is that she is so adorable that many residents gave her food and some of them were just plain irresponsble.

The leftover food irked a male Chinese resident, in his 40s, so much that he scolded a feeder and threatened to harm the cats.

The following day, i.e. last evening, Fei-Mui was seen limping.

Was it a concidence or was it abuse? Fei-Mui would not be able to tell us but she was obviously in pain!

If the man who scolded the feeder were the one to inflict the injury on this senior cat, then he is a coward! Instead of confronting the irresponsible feeders and have a neighbourly chat, he took it out on a harmless cat!

This morning, a caregiver heard the news and went to look for Fei-Mui. He found Fei-Mui curled up at a corner of the recess area at the back of the block, next to a plate of a big chunk of cat food (from a large can!). He placed the trusting cat into a carrier and sent her to a vet.

I would like to express my thanks for your prompt action in arranging for the pest control to release the two tipped ear cats caught respectively from Blk ** and Blk **.

I was expecting a pest control van at the rubbish dump of Blk *** and hence I missed the foreign worker standing besides the wire-cage. He helped me carry the cage to the back of Blk ** to release the frightened cats.

2) Identify homes with house pets and educate them to keep their cats indoor and to have them sterilized so that they will not abandon kittens downstairs. Just last month, we helped a family in Blk ** to get their four cats sterilized (we also paid for the vet fees) and also advised them to keep their cats indoor. So far we have not seen their cats on the parapet anymore.

3) We also spoke to feeders whenever we chanced upon them and advised them to be responsible in their feeding. I have also spoken to a few cleaners in the estate and they have no issues with cat food leftover. Their biggest headache is the increasing human gabage.

By pre-empting potential sources of complaints and doing our best to resolve them, we hope to reduce your workload at the town council.
