How much does a cat need? A simple shelter, fresh water and food. Yet we humans who are depleting the earth 's limited resources with our endless desires, label cats as "pests" to justify killing them!

Metallica trapped in a coffeeshop that was close as it had gone bust!

Metallica was neutered about 5 years ago. He was so-named as his favourite napping place was a metallic bench that had been removed in the recent ugprading of the market mall.

This morning, a feeder as told that Metallica was trapped into a coffee-shop that had gone out of business...again....for a few days.





































Metallica was seen looking out of the grills at the back of the coffee-shop. He has gone too big to squeeze out of the 3 to 4-inch gaps.




SPCA was called and the Inspector asked for the company's name in order to trace the proprietor of the coffee-shop.

After the call to the SPCA, the caregiver walked to the front and saw two ex-employees of the coffee-shop, wearing T-shirts bearing the coffee-shop's name.

One shutter was unlocked and Mettalica was finally released. He meowed for some time in distress!

Please help to protect community cats like this one by
1) Teaching children not to be "innocently" abusing them by screaming or throwing things at them.
2) If you are familar with any community cats especially those with good temperament, show your affection to the public by stroking them. However I usually advise children not to touch the cats as some cats may unexpectedly lash out, resulting in injuries and angry parents may complain to the town councils. If there are no caregivers to speak out for the community cats, some town council property officers may just response to such complaint by engaging the pest controllers to cull the cats in the vicinity of complaint.

I doubt anyone would complain to the town council about this man smoking on this bench. The smell of a single stick of cigarette could be detected 2-3 metres away. Why? Because he is a human.

Would any human complain of a cat napping on a public bench? Most human won't but all it takes to put the life of this innocent harmless cat in danger is a human who hates or has phobia of cats to call the town council to complain!

The differential action towards human and animal by the town council is SPECI-ISM.

He was in deep REM sleep even when I was squatting besides him. His eyelids were flickering rapidly. I nudged him on his forehead a few times with no response! It was only when a school kid ran out screaming at the top of her voice that he woke up.
