The culprit are the irresponsible cat feeders, NOT the cats, so CULL the right species!

Complaint about irresponsbile cat feeding. The problem is that many town councils are still dumb enough to blame the cats instead of targeting the human irresponsible cat feeders! Will the town councils again use this complaint to "remove" the cats so that they can achieve a higher ranking?

Irresponsible feeding of cats jeopardises their lives!

If you are truly concerned about the welfare of cats, practise responsible feeding and advise such irresponsible feeders to stop doing so. All it takes is ONE cat-phobic person to complain.

However the property officers should be aware that "removal" (i.e. removed by pest controller to the AVA to be killed) of cats DOES NOT stop irresponsible feeding. It take MORE effort but definitely more effective by "catching" these irresponsible and issue warning or a fine for the recalcitrant feeder because they are littering. Property Officers can always engage the estate cleaners, who are likely to be aware of cat feeders, to catch the "right" culprit.

Fish bone again?

Fish bone again? Mar 2, '10 2:41 AM
for everyone

This male appeared at the same time as Fifi. He has not been eating for 3 days. I suspect fish bone. He is at the same block as Beauty who had 4 fish bones removed from her throat! http://meowies.multiply.com/journal/item/735/Beauty_unable_to_eat... He has not been named and sterilized yet...

Lala went to her new home today.

Brought Oki downstairs today for a while... where he met Fifi, Coco and Jumpy.

Do NOT feed whole fish to cats....fine bones can cause slow painful death

http://www.petpublishing.com/catkit/faq.shtml
Q: My cat loves chicken and fish. Should I give him the bones to chew on?

Absolutely not. Cooked chicken bones can splinter in the cat's mouth and cause serious damage. Smaller fish bones can get lodged in the throat and cause even more damage. If your cat has a strong urge to gnaw, chewy treats are a safe alternative.

Irresponsible feeding will KILL the cats

MOST town councils will take the easy way out if there were any complaints about such irresponsible feeding by removing the cats to be KILLED at the AVA. They are not accountable for recurring complaints of such irresponsible feeding because the VACUUM EFFECT.

If you spot any irresponsible feeders, please educate them on the harm to the cats!

If they are recalcitrant, contact an NEA officer to catch and fine them!

Dangerous and Irresponsible Feeding

Throwing a whole fish to feed a downstairs cat is irresponsible and dangerous.

A bone stuck in the throat can result in tremendous suffering and a slow death!

A complaint about this irresponsible feeding can result in the town council activating the pest controllers to trap ALL the cats in the vicinity!

If you see anyone doing this, please speak to him or her to stop. Alternatively download a flyer from
Flyers and posters on "Responsible Feeding"

and insert into the flat concerned.

Feeding cats upstairs jeopardise the lives of the community cats

These photographs were taken outside the last flat on the second storey.
There was smell of urine from the staircases just besides this flat.
Even if the urine came from a human, just ONE complaint to the town council will result in this cat being rounded up by the pest controller to be killed at the AVA. An overzealous property officer may even instruct the pest controller to round all other cats downstairs!

If you know anyone who has home cats, PLEASE IMPLORE THEM TO KEEP THE CATS SAFE INDOOR!

If know anyone who feeds cats upstairs, PLEASE IMPLORE THEM TO DO SO RESPONSIBLE AND THIS INCLUDES FEEDING THEM IN A DISCRETE AREA DOWNSTAIRS!

Irresponsible Feeding - "CULL" this irresponsible habit, NOT the pigeons or cats!

malay-man-blk-64_feeding-pigeons_08122008
This man was throwing food to feed the pigeons.

However if anyone complain to the town council, it will be the pigeons who will be shot or poisoned!

The one who is responsible is really this HUMAN BEING who ought to be fined!

However town council seems to take the easily but cowardly way out by killing the pigeons but NOT solving the problem by confronting such irresponsible human beings and fine them!

The applies to irresponsible feeding of community cats as well. Instead of educating residents on Responsible Feeding and fine recalcitrant irresponsible feeders, it chooses to kill the cats. Again the problem is NOT resolved as the vacuum left by the cats killed will be filled by cats moving from neighbouring precincts. Irresponsible feeding will continue! This cyclical killing of cats is a waste of the town council's resources!

Irresponding feeding of cats!

This man's irresponsible feeding will get these community cats their death sentence!
This man must be stopped!
To caregivers in Toa Payoh, please look out for this man and educate him on "Responsible Feeding".

Ask him to feed away from the coffee-shop, clear away any leftover and have the cats sterilised!

Another irresponsible and dangerous feeding of cats

I spoke to two elderly lady near where the fish leftover was found. The Chinese lady , who was in a wheelchair, said she has seen Tua-Pui-Meow since she was a “little baby”. Both ladies agreed that the small bones from a fish were dangerous. The Malay lady said she was afraid to tell people off for fear of violent reprisal. The Chinese lady said she would speak to the feeder if she saw him or her.
