Meow-Meow passed away this morning

Despite the "tragedy" that befell Meow-Meow, who became paralysed from a kick on his back by a teenager in Holland Village, Meow-Meow received immeasureable amount of loving-kindness in the short period of her disability, to bring along to her next chapter of existence.

Meow-Meow died from complications that occur in paraplegics. She died naturally and peacefully
in the home of the elderly caregiver, Ah Heok.

Ah Heok is heartbroken but will have to recover to care for the many cats in her neighbourhood.

"Just called Heok, Meow seems better than yesterday but doesn't eat or drink, tell her I'll call again tonight to see how Meow is n send her to clinic for drip fri am."

Meow-Meow resumes acupuncture treatment

Meow-Meow suffered severe injury to her back as a result of abuse (a teenager kicked her in Holland Drive)in April this year, that resulted in paralysis of her hind limbs and difficulty in urination and defecation.

With acupuncture treatment, Meow-Meow was showing recovery in regaining the function of her hind limbs when she suffered a setup with a severe infection of the bladder (a common complication of paraplegics) that spread to her spine and her brain.

She pulled through a critical period.

Acupuncture was resumed as it is the only treatment now to give her some hope of recovery.

The elderly caregiver, Ah Heok, is taking care of Meow-Meow that includes regular compression of the lower abdomen to expel the urine and faeces.

Please help to lighten the financial burden on the caregiver by sponsoring the acupuncture sessions.

"Great news :) Heok called last night that Meow started to eat n drink again. Dr.ling asked to bring Meow back for check up mon also teach Heok how to press out her urine daily. Dr.ling said Meow urine is not pass out by herself but leak out after it was too full. Might be a reason for infection.The total bill was $198."

Update from Ping Ping "Meow is better...."

We brought her to Dr.ling this am. Heok said she drinks when she feeds her but not eating. She can't made a sound when we brought her back wed pm only groan n her eyes off focus. Now she can sit up also Meow a little on the way to vet. The blood seems to stop but a lot of pus came out. Dr. Ling said she is better but not out of danger yet n her both legs' muscles shrunk.Have to drip n leave her over night till sat..We'll visit her about 4 plus.Feel so sorry for her."

Update on Meow-Meow from Ping Ping
" Dr. Chan just called, Meow not so good cause infection in the bladder is tracking to the spinal code. Dr. Ling also seen her. They said treat infection from spinal code is tricky. . They've given her all the drug needed now just wait n see. Told her we'll be down to visit this pm."

"Meow doesn't look good. Worse than the 1st time she was in clinic. Dr. CHAN said seems bacterial gone to her brain. Both of us very sad to see her suffer like that. We'll bring her back before 7.30pm n bring back fri am if needed."

6.45pm,sms from Ping Ping:
"I'll still hoping for miracle . .will bring her home 7.30pm. DR. CHAN said Heok did a good job taking care of her can see from her stool. Heok cried she keep telling Meow she must get well because so many of you put in so much effort."

7.50pm, sms from Ping Ping"
"She (Ah Heok) keeps asking me is't because she brought her downstairs, she said when in her flat nothing happeded. Dr. Chan told her is not her fault, she said because Meow is paralyzed, that why this can happened."

Meow-Meow's 11th Acupuncture

Ah Heok, the caregiver who was caring for Meow-Meow before she was abused with a kick, and caring for her now, would bring her "downstairs" daily for about half an hour. Meow-Meow would be very excited and move about with her front limbs.
Meow-Meow is no longer constipated with administration of a stool softener called Lactulose. The anal region is no longer inflammed.
There is movement of the tail. The right hind leg is gaining more strength than the left hind limb.





Next acupuncture session is 9th June (Wednesday), late morning.

Someone hit a cat that the old lady feeds daily so hard that her whole back part is paralysed and fighting for her life at the clinic since 23 april.

We sent her and been visiting and praying hard that she would recover.

Someone told the caretaker that it was a Malay teenager living at Block 1 Holland Drive who hit the cat.

There is a gang of these teenagers who are trouble-makers.

Her hind legs and tail can't move. There is also back-part swelling.

Vet said there must be a lot of bruises inside and outside the body that can't be seen from the x-ray. It only shows that no bone is broken.

We are checking with vet if the cat can try acupuncture because i saw in MettaCats facebook that Felix and Mikho improved after the treatment. But old lady couldn't afford it.

This 72 year-old lady was knocked by a motorcycle months back and the someone recommended a lawyer to claim compensation ( she can't work) but told her she could claim 12k and have to pay 5-7k for legal fee. She can't afford her own expenses and the feeding of her strays (over 10) and now she is worried about injured cat's medical.

Meow-Meow's 5th acupuncture session today

Meow-Meow is under the care of the elderly lady caregiver, Ah Heok.
Meow-Meow has gained power in her lower limbs and she is passing normal formed stools.

The next acupuncture session is on Wednesday, 19th May 2010.
